Legionella in the water systems

Legionella is one of the main pathogens transmitted through water. The non-use of the water systems during the pandemic lockdown, caused an exponential legionella contamination increase, due to the stagnation of the sanitary circuits at an optimal temperature for the proliferation.

The reactivation of these systems should be carried out only after the decontamination, in order to reduce the legionella bacteria charge to a non-dangerous concentration, which can be controlled by the water systems. For the security conditions restoration, in compliance with the Legislative Decree 81/2008, Maroso srl provides a full activities package to prevent, manage and effectively solve the Legionella problem in the water systems. The process foresees the water systems decontamination, aimed to eliminate the substratum inside the pipes where the Legionella settles, and the subsequent disinfection treatment of the distribution system.

The interventions will be carried out in full compliance with the protocols and the foreseen sanitary regulations. At the activity end, Maroso will issue a specific report and the certification of the products used.
